Frequently Asked Questions
Where is my data stored?
All your data is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database. No data is sent to external servers. See our Privacy Policy and Data Management pages for details.
How do I back up my data?
Oria provides multiple backup options:
- Automatic backups: Oria automatically maintains rotating backups after every change
- Manual backups: Go to Settings → Data Management → Create Backup
- Export .oria file: Settings → Data Management → Export Data — save to Files, share via AirDrop, email, etc.
- iCloud backup: Enable optional iCloud Drive backup for cloud protection
How do I transfer data to a new device?
Export a .oria backup file from your old device (Settings → Data Management → Export Data), transfer it via AirDrop, iCloud Drive, email, or any file sharing method, then import it on your new device (Settings → Data Management → Import Data).
Can I undo a data import?
Yes. Before any import, Oria automatically creates a pre-import backup. You can restore your previous data at any time via Settings → Data Management.
How do I reset the app?
Go to Settings → Data Management → Reset All Data. This requires a two-step confirmation. This action permanently deletes all data and cannot be undone. We recommend creating a backup first.
How do notifications work?
Oria uses local notifications processed entirely on your device. You can customize notifications per category (events, routines, shifts, to-dos) in Settings → Notifications. Notification titles are shown without sensitive body content for privacy.
How do widgets work?
Add Oria widgets to your iOS home screen to see today's schedule. Widgets are available in small and medium sizes. Data refreshes every 30 minutes and stays entirely on your device.
What languages are supported?
Oria is available in English, Turkish (Türkçe), Spanish (Español), German (Deutsch), and French (Français). The language is automatically detected from your device settings and can be changed in Settings → Language.
Is Oria free? Are there in-app purchases?

Troubleshooting
The app is slow or unresponsive
- Ensure your device is running the latest iOS version
- Try closing and reopening the app
- Check available device storage
- Use Settings → Data Management → Check Database Integrity to verify database health
Notifications are not appearing
- Check that notifications are enabled in your device Settings → Oria → Notifications
- Verify that notifications are enabled within the Oria app: Settings → Notifications
- Ensure Focus mode or Do Not Disturb is not blocking Oria notifications
Widget is not updating
- Remove and re-add the widget to your home screen
- Open the Oria app to trigger a data sync
- Restart your device if the issue persists
Data appears missing
- Check if you're viewing the correct calendar
- Try restoring from a backup: Settings → Data Management → view your available backups
