1. Overview

Oria (“the App”) is a personal productivity application. In this Privacy Policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Orionth. The App is designed to work primarily offline and to keep your data under your control. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

2. Data Collection & Storage

Oria does NOT collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data you create — including calendars, events, routines, shifts, tasks, and preferences — is stored exclusively on your device in a local SQLite database.

We do NOT:

  • Collect personal information such as your name, email, or phone number
  • Track your location
  • Use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs
  • Share or sell any data to third parties
  • Require account creation or login
  • Collect device identifiers or telemetry data
  • Use cookies or similar tracking technologies

3. Optional Features

3.1 iCloud Backup

If you choose to use the iCloud backup feature, a copy of your data may be stored in your personal iCloud account via iCloud Drive. This data is governed by Apple's iCloud Terms of Service and Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to your iCloud data. iCloud backup is entirely optional and disabled by default.

3.2 Data Export (.oria Files)

When you export a .oria backup file, it is handled by your device's native share sheet. The destination and security of exported files are your responsibility. Exported files contain your calendar data, routines, shifts, to-dos, and settings in a structured format.

3.3 Data Import

When importing data from a .oria file, a pre-import backup is automatically created to protect your existing data. You can undo an import at any time to restore your previous data.

3.4 Notifications

Oria uses local notifications (via the iOS notification system) to remind you of upcoming events, routines, shifts, and to-dos. Notifications are optional, customizable per category, and processed entirely on-device. Notification contents display titles only — no sensitive data is included in notification bodies, ensuring your information stays private even on a locked screen.

3.5 Photo Library Access

If you grant photo library access, Oria uses it solely to allow you to set custom calendar backgrounds from your photos. Photos are processed and stored locally on your device.

3.6 iOS Widget

Oria offers iOS home screen widgets that display today's schedule. Widget data is shared between the app and widget extension via a secure App Group container on your device. No widget data is transmitted externally.

4. Third-Party Services

Oria does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The App may use Apple's StoreKit API solely to present the standard App Store review dialog, which is entirely controlled by Apple and does not share data with us.

5. Data Security

Your data is protected by multiple layers of security:

  • Device Security: Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).
  • Local Database: Data is stored in a SQLite database with WAL (Write-Ahead Logging) mode for crash recovery and data integrity.
  • Backup Integrity: Backups include SHA-256 checksums for data integrity verification.
  • Dual Backup System: Automatic rotating dual backup system protects against backup corruption.
  • Secure Logging: Internal application logs never contain sensitive user data.

We recommend keeping your device software up to date and maintaining regular backups of your data using the built-in backup features.

6. Children's Privacy

Oria does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Since the App does not collect any personal data whatsoever, it is suitable for all ages.

7. Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your data:

  • View, edit, or delete any data within the App at any time
  • Export your data using the built-in backup and export features
  • Import and restore from previously created backups
  • Reset all data from within the App's Settings
  • Revoke any granted permissions through your device's Settings
  • Control notification preferences per category (events, routines, shifts, to-dos)

Since all data is stored locally on your device, deleting the App will permanently remove all associated data unless you have created external backups (e.g., .oria export files or iCloud backups).

8. Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device, we do not have any data retention policies — your data exists only as long as you choose to keep it. You can delete individual items, reset all data, or uninstall the App at any time.

9. International Users

Oria does not transfer data across borders since all data remains on your device. The App is available in English, Turkish, Spanish, German, and French. Regardless of your location, the same privacy protections apply.

10. Language Disclaimer

This Privacy Policy is originally written in English. Translations into other languages are provided for convenience only. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the English version and any translated version, the English version shall prevail and govern.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
